Visit this cherished 1869 remnant of Indiana's rail history that now houses the history and arts of northern Hamilton County, Indiana.
Located on the old Nickel Plate Rail line in the heart of Arcadia, Indiana, a small rural town whose roots harken back to the state's large industrial boom of the latter 19th century. But its heart also lies in long ties with agricultural roots.
In addition to serving as a train depot, this classical Victorian building also has served as the town's library and now as its historical and art center.
Although small, The Depot's contents tell a story of a once vibrant and still beloved community. A work in progress, the organization hopes to continue restoration on the building in the future, as well as install additional exhibits to tell the story of its glass, manufacturing, agricultural and cultural heritage.
